New Points Leader!

Published by nascarfan at 10:19 am under Nascar Opinions Edit This

As most of you know, after the Autism Speaks 400, NASCAR had a new Sprint Cup Points leader. Jeff Gordon no longer had the lead. Even though Tony Stewart was not victorious over Jimmie Johnson in Dover this past weekend, he can’t stop smiling.

Right now Tony Stewart has a 46 point lead over Jeff Gordon (which in this sport, isn’t much at all!). Do you think that after this upcoming race, Tony can hold on to the lead, or do you think that Jeff Gordon will take it back?

Everyone talks so much about the top 2 people in the chase for the cup, but don’t leave out the rest of the competition. In 3rd place is Jimmie Johnson, who is only 64 points behind Tony Stewart, so I wouldn’t rule him out. Who knows, next week Jimmie Johnson could be our new Sprint Cup leader! I mentioned this in my previous post, but Jimmie Johnson will have a new crew chief (Tony Eury Jr.) just for this next race, so let’s see how he does! Don’t miss it!
